The Breakdown

The Doomsday Clock, which has been ticking for 77 years, attempts to gauge how close humanity is to destroying the world. The Bulletin of the Atomic Scientists, which created the clock in 1947 says that Midnight represents the moment at which humans will have made Earth uninhabitable. Recently the clock was set at 90 seconds to midnight – the closest to the hour it has ever been.

Here are the reasons…

WAR
The war in Ukraine poses an ever-growing risk of nuclear escalation. Countries with nuclear weapons are engaged in modernization programmes that threaten to create a new high-speed nuclear arms race more widespread than we have ever seen. Add to that the risk of nuclear escalation because of what's happening in Gaza. Meaning many more fingers on nuclear triggers.

CLIMATE: 2023
Earth experienced its hottest year on record and massive floods, fires and other climate-related disasters have taken root. Climate change threatens billions of lives and livelihoods creating mass migrations and conflict as people fight for dwindling essential resources like water.

ILLNESS
The threat of Pandemics both natural and manmade increases as people are forced to live in ever denser populations. Like factory chickens whose daily diet includes a cocktail of antibiotics and drugs to ensure that if one catches a cold they aren't all wiped out, humans will, for their own safety, have to be quarantined.

THE HUMAN BREAKING POINT
When billions of people don't agree with the World Economic Forum that “China is the model for the world” and refuse to work as prisoners in the Factory Cities, they will take to the streets to protest their governments who in return will shoot them.

The convergence of the above are for me what makes ‘The Breakdown’.

So, before I die I want to step out of this shell of a life conditioned by the Rulers; I want to reconnect with my Soul that has had no place in the capitalist world of humanity.

Most of my life I have lived in societal compliance, under control. Come the Breakdown I'm gonna stop being nice...

I used to say what people wanted to hear, I wouldn't be contentious – fuck that I'm gonna say it how it is.

Against this backdrop of knowing the human race is on the edge of termination, there is someone who I was once really close to; someone with whom, if it’s possible, I want to share my last living moments.

That someone said from a place deep in their heart “I love you”.
