Hey Soldier

It breaks my heart how children are being killed in Gaza and other war-torn countries. I wrote ‘Hey Soldier’ from a place of heartache, shared with Roger Waters and other musicians who refuse to stand by and do nothing about Gaza.

It breaks my heart how society at large ignores the plight of these kids because of their ethnicity or how distant they are from our day-to-day lives.

Deliberately killing children is an act of evil wherever and however it happens and we should care.

But this is often not the case.

If a group of religious fanatics were engaged in a bombing campaign on multifaith establishments and bombed a school in a city, the residents would be outraged at the deaths of the children.

Parents, relatives and the community would be on the streets and pressuring the government and the police to bring the perpetrators to justice.

Towns and villages around the city would be aghast but perhaps not moved enough to travel to the city to offer support or demand government action.

But much further away from the city, how many would be deeply moved, and how many would demand that this stop and take to the streets to protest?

Unless it’s the school on our doorstep where the children were massacred, we might offer sympathy, but otherwise we don't really care.

How the hell did we get to this state of selfishness, this state of not caring about each other, especially innocent kids? Is caring distance related?

The answer for me is partly maybe, but I think it’s mainly because we have been media-conditioned.

The Zionist controlled media (BBC, CNN, et al) repeat broadcast messages telling us that acts of inhumanity such as genocide are 'normal', are 'acceptable' if they happen in the right place to the right target ethnic/cultural group, and most of us, like nodding sheep, fall in line.

Well it’s NOT 'normal'. Humans were created with love and compassion in their hearts for others.

When humans lose those essential qualities, they are f*cked. The sheep of today don't realise that one day they will become the genocide victims of tomorrow. Wake up sheep, before it’s too late!

January 27 marks International Holocaust Remembrance Day

A holocaust is an act of Genocide notable for its use of industrial processes to advance the extermination of a target ethnic group rather than conventional techniques such as starvation, spreading disease and use of weapons.

Children do not start wars, yet they are frequently the victims who suffer most.

Israel's Genocide in Gaza currently kills on average 28 children a day through shooting, bombing and denial of food and medical supplies.

Every day, medical professionals report treating children with high-precision gunshot wounds to the head, chest, neck, and genitals. Some children are shot twice. These injuries are incompatible with the chaos of indiscriminate warfare, or so-called collateral damage. This is a deliberate act of the Israeli Defence Force (IDF) snipers.

The United Nations has added the IDF to the “list of shame” of military forces committing grave violations against children in armed conflict zones.

As competition between Imperial powers intensifies, more and more countries with valuable resources become war zones. Theatres of these 'Imperial clashes'  include the Central African Republic, the Congo, Palestine and the Sudan.

These money-induced conflicts destroy the lives of millions of children.

Stop imperialism! Stop exploitative capitalism! Stop killing kids!
